Das Schloß war bis 1939 im Besitz der Familie Apponyi. In der darauf folgenden Zeit funktionierte es als Flüchtlingslager, Lazarett, sowie als Erholungs- bzw. Erziehungsheim. Das Graf Apponyi Schloßhotel ist seit November 2001 in seinen jetzigen Form eröffnet.
Erlebnisbad: Es gibt ein 10x20 M Schwimmbecken, 2 Thermalbecken, 4 Saunas und eine Dampfkabine.
